Product Description

Ceramic tile decals are transfers fired onto glazed tile surfaces at 750-900°C (overglaze) or into the glaze at 1,200°C+ (high-fire), producing decoration that resists moisture, abrasion and cleaning chemicals permanently. The decoration becomes part of the tile surface itself - there is no film or adhesive to lift, even in wet rooms and high-traffic floors.

Where Tile Decals Are Used

Custom tile decoration serves both architectural and decorative markets: feature walls and backsplashes in hospitality projects, branded tiles for retail environments, reproduction historic patterns for restoration work, decorative accents in residential ranges, and full photographic murals assembled from multiple tiles.

Because decals are printed rather than hand-painted, multi-tile designs reproduce with perfect consistency across hundreds or thousands of pieces - every tile in the run matches the approved sample.

Overglaze or High-Fire?

Overglaze (750-900°C)

Applied to already-glazed tiles. The widest colour range, including bright reds and fine photographic detail. Standard for decorative wall tiles and murals.

High-fire (1,200°C+)

Fired into or under the glaze. Maximum abrasion resistance for floor tiles and heavy-wear commercial surfaces, with a narrower colour palette.

Design Considerations

Tile decals reproduce fine detail, gradients and photographic imagery at high resolution. For multi-tile murals, artwork is split across sheets with register marks so the assembled image aligns tile-to-tile. We can prepare this splitting from your master artwork, or work from pre-split files.

Durability

Fired tile decoration withstands water, steam, household and commercial cleaning chemicals, UV exposure and freeze-thaw cycles - which is why it is specified for pools, spas, facades and wet rooms where printed or vinyl alternatives fail within months.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are tile decals waterproof?

Yes - permanently. The decoration is fired into the glaze surface, so it resists water, steam and cleaning chemicals for the life of the tile. Suitable for pools, spas and wet rooms.

Can you reproduce photographs on tiles?

Yes. Overglaze decals reproduce fine detail, gradients and photographic imagery at high resolution. Multi-tile murals are split across sheets with register marks for alignment.

What firing temperature do tile decals need?

750-900°C for overglaze on glazed tiles, or 1,200°C+ for high-fire applications. The choice depends on whether the tile is wall (decorative) or floor (wear-resistant).

Are tile decals suitable for floors?

Yes, with high-fire application. Overglaze suits wall tiles; floor tiles need high-fire decoration fired into the glaze for abrasion resistance.

What is the minimum order?

MOQ starts from 100 sheets depending on decal size and layout. Sample sheets of 10-20 pieces are available before volume production.

How long does production take?

Sampling 5-7 working days after artwork confirmation; volume production 7-15 working days depending on quantity and mural complexity.
